Early Years and Key Stage 1

Currently we have four classes across Key Stage 1. They have the following names:

  • Acorns
  • Bluebells
  • Clover
  • Daisies

There are 11 or 12 children in each class. Each of the class is staffed with a teacher and either three or four teaching assistants, this depends on the age and needs of the children.

All the classes in Key Stage 1 follow a curriculum based around the early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. There is a strong emphasis on developing the foundations for learning. Our children access topics and activities designed to promote their Physical, Social and Emotional Development and their Communication and Language Skills.

The children have lots of opportunities to access outdoor learning both in our wonderful Backlands and with regular visits in the community.
