Pupil Premium has been introduced by the government in order to give all children the opportunity to succeed in education. This has been done in the form of a grant which has been given to schools for children eligible for Free School Meals, those who have been in Local Authority Care for more than 6 months or those who parents or carers serve in the armed forces.
The pupil premium is additional funding given to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers.
Some of the main barriers that Pupil Premium students may face are lack of resources at home such as access to information technology, the ability to have a wide range of experiences when they are not in school and in some cases due to parents being in the forces or the child being in care, there is limited access to adults who can support their learning at home.
Please read the information below which gives details of our Pupil Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.
