Sports Champions of the week

Meet this years sports teams....

Cherry Oak Champions and Olympic Oaks.

Both teams had a discussion and suggested different ideas for their team names. The suggestions were put to the vote. 

After naming themselves, their first objective was to discuss the team rules. Here are the rules both teams thought were very important;

• To be kind to others 
• To try your best 
• Be healthy and make healthy choices
• To encourage and cheer for others 
• Good listening 
• Be fast in races 
• Have fun 
• To WIN!!!!! 

Both teams meet on a regular basis and participate in various sessions, such as..

• to practice and develop our skills
• develop and master techniques
• plan for sessions and future events
• discuss healthy lifestyles
• how to be be a good role model 

Cherry Oak Sports Team consists of 21 pupils from KS2.

The pupils nominated themselves at the beginning of the year and were selected to represent Cherry Oak school in competitive events. The sports team are also responsible for supporting physical activity across the school and being good role models to their peers. They have leadership responsiblities to care for the sports equipment, encourage their peers to be active and to feedback back regularly about the impact of activities and events throughout the year.

The sports team meet regulary on a Tuesday lunchtime to discuss feedback from activities and events and practise for up and coming events.
