 Teaching Assistant Level 2

     2 * Fixed Term Contract Level 2 Teaching Assistants (& SEN allowance)

    20 hours per week


    To start: January 2022 – 31st August 2022 - Term time only


    Cherry Oak School is a Primary School for pupils with cognition and communication difficulties.  Federated with Victoria School and Victoria College, Cherry Oak School provides pupils with a bespoke curriculum for all our explorers and connectors. The school is undertaking an exciting new chapter.


    The successful candidates will be outstanding classroom practitioners with passion for seeing pupils thrive. Candidates will be able to inspire and engage our pupils and will be keen to join our committed staff team on our journey to becoming an outstanding school.


    We are seeking to appoint two teaching assistants working part time. The roles will be specifically for helping our pupils ‘Covid recovery’ owing to the lasting impact of Covid-19. 


    This will involve supporting targeted pupils for interventions, during lesson time. Staff have identified those who are most in need of bespoke interventions. Using the best strategies – based on long term research – that will enable our children to achieve the most positive outcomes and have the most impact. 


    You will be able to make good use of a range of technology to support both learning and communication. Development of pupil reading, including phonics will be a key aspect to the role – relevant training will be provided.


    The roles will ideally suit people who wish to work in a vibrant SEND environment. 


    Successful candidates will need to demonstrate:

  • Flexibility 
  • Their ability to work using own initiative, and work effectively as part of a team.
  • How they communicate clearly and effectively with pupils and colleagues.
  • The desire to take ownership of tasks.
  • The passion and commitment to supporting children and young people with Special Needs.
