SEND SOCIALS

SEND Socials - LoveBrum

What is SEND Socials?

SEND Socials Birmingham was officially formed into a small community group in early 2019 following the success of their online Facebook group, which highlighted the lack of social opportunities available for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

There are numerous opportunities, clubs and associations available for neurotypical children to keep them entertained throughout the school holidays but there is a huge lack of equivalent opportunities for children with additional needs.

Activities for children with additional needs are not only few and far between, but are typically only available during term times, with a big gap in services during school holidays. Accessing mainstream activities is often not an option either as these places can be too busy, noisy or unfamiliar for children with additional needs. The school holidays can also be a difficult time for parents and carers trying to maintain a routine and keep their children occupied and active.

Girls Football

S. Collins Sports Coaching will be starting a Girls Football Development Centre in partnership with AFC Birmingham who play in the Midland Football League. They have an excellent facility and are allowing the P.D.C to use the home ground for their training. The club is very ambitious and have plans in place to move the club forward and grow.

The P.D.C will run on a Wednesday evening at AFC Birmingham’s home ground on Illey Lane, Halesowen. B62 0HF. Training is 6:15 to 7:15 and is on grass. All players need to wear shin pads and football boots are advised. Cost is £5 a week.

Girls of all abilities are welcome to attend the P.D.C. even if they are signed for other clubs, you are still welcome to come and do some extra training. The first age groups we are going to set up are for players who are in school years 7,6,5 and 4 in September.

To register your interest in attending the P.D.C please email Scott Collins at scott.collins.1969@outlook.com
