Parking on Frederick Road

Just a polite request from the neighbours on Frederick Road to remind parents and carers not to block driveways when dropping off and collecting children from school.
Please remember you are able to use the turning circle if you are finding it difficult to find a parking space.
Ask in the school office if you need any information and they will be happy to help.

Covid Outbreak

Dear families,

I am sorry to be informing you that Cherry Oak School has had at least two confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the last 14 days. In a special school, two cases or more is classed as an ‘outbreak’ and so we have activated our outbreak management plan. This plan outlines the measures that we would need to put in place to further support the children and staff in staying safe on site. Individuals who are directly affected will receive a letter today.

A very warm welcome back to everyone, and a big welcome to all our new parents. We are very excited about the year ahead. It was great to see all the children, staff and classrooms looking so good today.

Curriculum:

We are having a big focus on reading this year. Emma Eaton, Assistant Head, will be communicating separately about plans and ways you can support your children’s reading at home.

Transport:

We have had huge issues with home to school transport on the first day back. This is extremely disappointing as it has resulting in negative experience for our pupils. Please can I remind all parents and carers that Cherry Oak do not manage transport. We are as frustrated as you are with these issues and are doing everything we can to assist transport to rectify this for our pupils. This is a significant amount of work for our staff to make sure our pupils are not in this position again. However, as I have said above, Cherry Oak does not have responsibility for transport, they are a completely separate organisation.
