Cherry Oak School
Working Together for Success
Overnight we have had more explicit advice from the government about who falls into the category of a "key worker". Yesterday, school staff were successful in reaching the majority of families by phone to determine who might need children cared for at school because parents are key workers. Government advice continues to be very clear, that to support "social distancing" to limit the spread of Coronavirus, the vast majority of children will be safer being cared for at home, but schools will endeavour to provide a reduced service for those children who are most in need either because of their own vulerability or parents who are key workers. Cherry Oak will therefore be remaining partially open next week. This is under aily review, particularly in light of changing staff availability.
We are also investigating how to support families of children who are eligible for free school meals. This will most likely be through a voucher system for families to buy healthy food for their children. We have still to determine exactly how this will work and will keep you informed.
