Cherry Oak School
Working Together for Success
Dear Parents/Carers
On Thursday 4th March 2021 it is World Book Day. This year, the day is unusual for us at Cherry Oak as we will not have all of our children in school celebrating with us, as some of the children will still be learning from home. With this in mind, we have come up with an idea that will bring us all back together again.
Our Cherry Oak school world book day challenge is: to create a whole school book based on superheroes.
How it will work:
The children have the freedom to write about anything and everything to do with superheroes. They can create their own, use known superheroes or simply choose someone they know who inspires them. They could write or draw about a disaster that has happened, how the hero saves the day or describe the naughty villain. The idea is that none of us will know what anyone else’s page will be about… we might just end up with the greatest book of all time!
(Please note we do not expect any of our children to complete this task independently. This is a task to work alongside and support your child… and most importantly have fun!)
We also encourage your child to dress as their favourite book character if they wish to do so.
We are all really looking forward to hearing and seeing our children’s amazing creations.
Many thanks
Yours sincerely
