We are a lively class who enjoy activities such as: Sensory Exploration, being creative through Art and Design, Music, English, Maths and lots of outdoor learning in our Backlands area.
For the whole spring term, Pine class are working with the Hippodrome. Every week, Charlotte comes in to do a workshop where we learn all about the story Rainbow Fish. In our workshops, we have a turn being Rainbow Fish and share our sparkly scales with our friends. We are working towards performing at the Hippodrome with some other schools and we are very excited about this!
Pine class have been lucky enough to work with Hannah for another half term to do some drama! We really enjoy our sessions and can’t wait for it to be our turn.
This term, our topic is Castles and Knights. We are learning all about non-fiction texts in English and we are making our own castle leaflet! To introduce our topic, Key stage 2 had their own special kings and queens banquet where we shared soup, potatoes, bread and fruit. We have also enjoyed turning our classroom door into a castle during Art using paint and sponges - we worked well as a team.
On a Tuesday morning for Autumn 2, we are doing drama with Hannah from the open theatre. We enjoy it very much and have lots of fun every week!
Every Thursday, a music teacher comes into Pine Class to explore instruments with us. We have learnt how to play fast/slow, loud/quiet and some of us are making up our own patterns. We love playing on the drum because it makes a loud sound!
This term, our topic is space. In Autumn 1 we focused on the story book The Man on the Moon: A Day in the Life of Bob. We did lots of fun space themed activities and enjoyed reading the story book every week. In Autumn 2 we are focusing on space poems and as a class, we have made up actions to help us remember the words to our poems!
